THE TWO BIDONs BREAKAWAY

IMG_4021.jpg

A local loop created by our Ride Captain. It’s a great workout packed into 58km / 35m. Short enough to not require any stops for refills. You’ll recognise some of the lanes as The Two Bidon Breakaway overlaps with stretches of a few of our CR and SR routes. If you haven’t been venturing out much recently we hope this will be a good loop to get you back in to the swing of things…and if you have been riding, please give it a go as it’s ideal for a summer evening too.

The route is all on tarmac but if you want to add a little stretch of trail ( in the summer months ) and some great views, carry on up Roffes Lane, 25.5km / 15.5m, then turn right on to the North Downs Way at the crest of the hill. You can then follow Pilgrims Lane, crossing Hilltop Lane, and rejoin the route using Rook Lane. Only adds a km or two.

Pit-stop. Shell station. Coulsdon Road. 22km
Coffee Stop. FILTR cafe, just off route on Station Approach. 37.5km

A couple of points to note:
1. At 30km / 18.5m - you join the A23 briefly before turning off at Gatton Bottom.
2. At 35km / 21.5m - take care on the descent of Hazelwood Lane.
