Cotswolds Centuries

Friday  6 - Sunday 8 June

We’re off to the Cotswolds!

BCC have been planning rides up to the Cotswolds since the 30’s…and we’re heading back to a beautiful part of England for our 2025 tour.

This time we are arranging for bags…and bikes to be transported from Balham to our base in Witney on the Friday, then returned on Sunday. All you need to do is make your way to Witney on Friday afternoon/evening. We will all then be fresh for Saturday morning.

Friday - Bring your bike and drop your bag 7.30 - 9.00am BHP. We have taken over the Witney Premier Inn as our base for the weekend. Check-in opens at 3pm and your bike and kit will be waiting for you there.
Friday - Getting there?

The evening ride will depart from the hotel 3.30/4ish for a taste of the Cotswolds countryside. A 40km ride to spin the legs. We will call in to the Swan Inn at Minister Lovell for refreshments, km 33, before returning to Witney.

Dinner will be freeform, we will share a list of options nearer the time.

Saturday - A choice of Century rides, imperial and metric, through the rolling Cotswolds landscape and picturesque villages and then back to Witney where we will have a celebratory dinner together.
Our Saturday lunch stop will be the Mill Inn at Withington ( km 100 or km 66 ). We are pulling together a cafe guide for both routes so you can plan your other stops before and after lunch to best suit your PG.

Saturday coffee and lunch stops 100m and 100km

Imperial Century Route
Metric Century Route

Sunday - Takes us to the fabulously flat countryside of the Thames headwaters before returning to Witney to drop off your bikes and check-out of the Hotel. Please note checkout is 12noon.
We have created two routes…if you fancy a lie in! 58 or 42km
Our stop for Brunch will be at the Double Red Duke in Clanfield ( km 44 or km 28 )

Sunday routes:
58km.https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/edit/332946533
42km.https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/343730563

The cost of the trip is based on two sharing and will depend on final numbers but please budget on £300/£350. We are finalising the costs at the moment however please put a note in the diary that we would like all payments made by Friday 16th of May.

Trip cost will include:
Accommodation: Friday and Saturday night
Saturday - Lunch and Dinner
Sunday  - Coffee stop / brunch
ICE ride support
Bike & Bag transfer

We still have a couple of spaces available, please DM Robert or Howard if you would like to join the tour. Sign-on sheet

June all you need to do is get yourself to Witney - trains from Paddington to Hanborough, or Marylebone to Oxford Parkway then a short cab ride to Witney ...or car-pool from Balham.

This doesn’t rule out the option to ride up to Witney on the Friday, however this would be self-led and unsupported.
