GO WEST

Our route takes us on a loop, initially in a westerly direction to Thames Ditton, Esher and Cobham before heading south towards Ockham and West Horsley. Up Shere Rd on to the Downs, then a little up & down along the Ranmore ridge before the descent to West Humble. Over the A24 and up Headley Lane then heading home via Banstead, Carshalton and Mitcham.

A few points to flag:
1. To avoid the Esher one way system we take a little short cut across Esher Green.
2. After Esher we join the A307 for a short stretch, its busy road so take extra care.
3. Once we pass through the leafy estate of Fairmile there is a short gravel track just after crossing the bridge over the River Mole. It’s flat and hard-packed.
4. The traverse of the Ryde Farm Estate road is a little bumpy, but paved and flat.
5. West Humble - Take care when crossing the A24 towards the Old London Road as it’s a dual carriageway. You can also use the under-pass as an alternative…if you dismount, of course.

Cafes & Stops.
Giro Cafe in Esher is good, but perhaps a little too early!, No10 High Street, Esher. Just off the route.
Queen Stage - Effingham. On the route.
The Village Cafe - Walton on the Hill. On the route.
